Ashleigh Bell, an Addictions and Mental Health Student, will lead this virtual talk about Coping with Change. Join us to learn more about how we can get comfortable with change to create new patterns of thoughts and behaviours! Change is inevitable in life, but we sometimes have difficulty adapting. We will be discussing why we avoid change at a neurological level and why avoidance may be counterproductive to our wellbeing. We will review helpful strategies that encompasses resilience building, acceptance and commitment therapy, mindfulness, and cognitive behavioural therapy.
