In-Home Respite provides much needed caregiver relief for people who are caring for a loved one, with needs related to aging, physical and/or mental health, and who need some support.
Community Care Durham’s Personal Support Workers partner with caregivers to ensure their loved ones are safely cared for while caregivers take time for their own activities, helping to prevent caregiver burnout and illness.

What do CCD PSWs provide?
- personal care
- assistance with the activities of daily living
- social interactions
- meal preparation
- client-centered light housekeeping and more.
Who provides In-Home Respite?
CCD Personal Support Workers (PSWs) deliver the In-Home Respite service, and are trained to maintain a safe environment.
Who can receive In-Home Respite?
Clients must have a caregiver and be 16+ in age.
