CCD receives Nonprofit Employer of Choice Award

It is a pleasure to announce that Community Care Durham (CCD) has been awarded and recognized as an Employer of Choice through the Not-for-Profit Employers of Choice Awards (NEOC).

This year, CCD along with other organizations, fulfilled program requirements to be named a Canadian Nonprofit Employer of Choice. All winners successfully completed the NEOC Organizational Profile, Inventory and Employee Commitment Survey achieving a minimum overall score of 75% to qualify for the award.

Rosanna Keys, Vice President of Human Capital, was thrilled by the news. She and her teams along with collaboration with staff and managers, have worked hard making CCD an employer of choice, building trust and respect, communication, and employee engagement.

“It was a great pleasure preparing our Organizational Profile and showcasing all of the great work and accomplishments we have made over the years. Also, a big thank you to all staff who completed the Employee Commitment Survey. Your feedback on how CCD is a great place to work as well as other initiatives we can implement is valuable as we continue to make CCD an agency of choice for staff and volunteers.” Keys said.

CEO James Meloche said the organization has made great strides building a better work environment not only for employees but volunteers as well. He said how staff do their work is changing but not the quality and care they bring to clients helping them maximize their independence and thrive wherever they live.

“This status is a credit to our Human Capital Team. They have helped create an inclusive, engaged work environment that puts the employees first. I couldn’t be happier for them,” he said.

Jim Hilborn, Founder of The Hilborn Group said for more than 30 years Hilborn has been providing the resources and tools that nonprofits and charities need to do their jobs better.

“It is our hope that by recognizing excellence in talent management in the sector, the NEOC program will further motivate nonprofits to advance their missions by cultivating an inspiring and fulfilling work environment. We look forward to a day when every nonprofit in Canada will take the required steps to become an Employer of Choice,” he said.
