Community Care Durham receives New Horizons Grant

Organization will use it to promote volunteerism, Elder Abuse Prevention education

Community Care Durham (CCD) is pleased to announce it has been awarded funding from the Government of Canada under the New Horizons for Seniors Program.

The funding will allow CCD to support volunteerism among seniors and other generations and expand awareness of Elder Abuse.

Through these initiatives CCD will foster volunteerism through a new Volunteer Recruitment Campaign — Share Your Time with Us! In addition, the organization will provide training and educational in-services on Elder Abuse Awareness and Prevention to its staff, volunteers, clients, and caregivers.

Community Care Durham is a multi-service registered charitable organization providing a broad range of support services for individuals over the age of 16 and their caregivers. We assist our clients with services that support their independence, health, and quality of life. In doing so, we help them remain in their own homes – where they want to be.
