Ways to Donate
Thank you for considering a donation to Community Care Durham. We appreciate our donors ongoing support which helps us to provide our clients with access to a range of valuable services that can help them remain independent and connected to the community. This would not be possible without the support of our volunteers, partners and community supporters.

If you would like to make a donation to Community Care Durham, please review the following ways to donate:

One-time donations
Whether your one-time donation is $50, $100, $500 or more, you can make a significant contribution to the delivery of our services throughout the community.

Donate to assist a client in your community
You can designate your donation to a specific community (Whitby, Scugog, etc.) and for a specific service to help a needy client.  Your donation of $32.50 provides seven delicious Meals on Wheels frozen entrees, or a donation of $60 provides a month of Home Help (light housekeeping).

Monthly donations
Monthly donations are an easy way to support Community Care Durham and can provide funding year-round for the delivery of essential services. Your monthly donation, no matter how small, can substantially support this charity over the years. For example, a monthly donation of $10 will help us provide a variety of services that are affordable or at no cost to our clients.

Gifts in kind
Gifts of required product and/or services are greatly appreciated. A receipt will be available based on the fair market value.

Donations made in memory or as a tribute to a loved one
A donation in memory of a loved one is a special way to show your sympathy for the loss of a loved one or a departed member of another family or friend. Or you may choose to pay tribute to someone special or acknowledge a special occasion such as a milestone birthday or an anniversary.

Corporate donations or sponsorships
Donations and sponsorships from local businesses and corporations provide an opportunity not only for support of our services, special events and other initiatives, but also allow for increased visibility within the communities that you serve.

Take advantage of the new first-time donor's super credit!
The new first-time donor's super credit gives you an extra 25% non-refundable federal tax credit when you claim your charitable donation tax credit.  This means that you can get a 40% credit for donations up to $200, and a 54% credit for donations over $200 but not more than $1,000.  This is in addition to the provincial credit. The following rules apply:
* You qualify as a first-time donor if neither you or your spouse/common-law
   partner has claimed the charitable donation tax credit since 2007.
* The credit will apply only to cash donations made after Mar. 20, 2013 up to a
   maximum of $1,000.
* As a temporary credit, you can only claim it once from the 2013 to 2017 taxation
   years.
* Only donations made to registered charities and qualified donees are eligible.
