![]() The heart and soul of our daily operations are our volunteers. If it were not for their generous contribution of their time, the delivery of many of our services would not be possible. Many of our volunteers have found that volunteering has taught them new skills and given them great satisfaction knowing they are making a positive and immediate contribution to their community. Volunteers receive orientation, training, ongoing support and recognition. All staff and volunteers are carefully screened to ensure the safety of our services. A Police Reference Check (including vulnerable sector screening), two references and a Driver Abstract (if driving clients) are required. The cost for both is reimbursed after the completion of five hours of volunteer service. We invite you to join our very special team of volunteers making a difference in their community. When you volunteer with Community Care Durham you choose how much you can help and we will work with you to develop a mutually beneficial volunteer schedule.
