Assisted Living Personal Support Worker
Full Time (35 hr./wk.)

Qualifications required:
• Personal Support Worker certificate, or acceptable equivalent (e.g., RPN) and
experience in the community setting
• Maintenance of a class G Ontario driving licence and clean Drivers Abstract
• Satisfactory criminal reference check
• Sensitivity to the needs of the frail elderly and persons with disabilities
• Physical ability sufficient to assist with client transfers and routine living
activities including toileting
• Ability and willingness to work a rotating schedule covering 24 hours per day, 7
days per week, including holidays
• Willingness to drive within Durham Region
The Assisted Living for High Risk Seniors initiative is a new program that enables the community to better assist those seniors with complex needs to remain in their own homes, with suitable supports.
The Assisted Living PSW provides assistance to clients, including personal care, homemaking (shopping, housecleaning, meal preparation); security checks; and assisting with routine living activities.
The Assisted Living PSW provides care in the home in accordance with Community Care Durham's policies and procedures, and communicates with the Assisted Living Manager and/or supervisor as directed.
